At 4Paws University, we understand that even the best of pets can have problems. We provide practical solutions for many training challenges and problem behaviors, including:
Our training methods do not include the use of aversive equipment or methods, as the latest behavioral research and our own experience have shown that such methods are not more effective and cause or exacerbate problem behaviors, including aggression.
No shock collars
No prong collars
No physical punishment
All training sessions are held at our training center unless the trainer determines outside/in-home training sessions are necessary.
PRICING

Multiple training sessions require payment in advance, purchased two at a time after the initial consultation.
Initial Consultation
$150.00 (approx 1.5 hours)
Provides an evaluation of your dog, including an assessment of the problem behavior, recommendations to prevent problems from recurring and training exercises to begin working with your dog. Depending on the type and of level of the problem behavior, additional training sessions may be recommended.
Additional Training Sessions
$125.00 per session (approx 1-1.5 hours each)
Some dogs will require multiple training sessions to teach them to respond to you in situations that trigger problem behaviors. Depending on the presented problem, we may recommend between 2-5 additional training sessions.
Multiple training sessions are purchased in pairs.
Assessing the behavior of multiple dogs in a home often requires more time than for single-dog households, so an additional charge of $75.00, or 50% off the normal rate, for the second dog (or more dogs) during the initial consultation.
Additional training sessions, however, will be charged at the regular rate.
We do not employ or advocate the methods seen on 'The Dog Whisperer'. Our training and behavior programs are designed to change problem behaviors, rather than suppressing behaviors through the use of punishment. Our methods include the use of humane training methods and equipment and are based on proven knowledge of animal behavior.
Our training programs focus on teaching dogs to be well-behaved family companions. Our training services are not suited for dogs that are intended to be outside dogs more than 50% of the day, unless the goal is to transition the dog to living indoors with the family.
Euthanasia/Rehoming Policy:We strongly believe this is a personal choice to be made by owners after considering all factors. Our role in this regard is to provide the owner with a clear view of those factors and offer consultation and referral, as appropriate.
